Our Mission

“Do not underestimate the power architecture has on the future of a city”
— John Manaves, Endpresentation Workshop "Kiel 2050 - Altstadt", 2018

What We've Achieved

  • The Neveling Foundation has established a Fellowship for Architecture for graduated students from the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture Cloud Studios in summer 2018

  • The Neveling Fellowship is project based and located in Kiel, Germany. The fellowship took place from July 15th to July 28th,2018 in Kiel and included fieldwork in The Netherlands. The fellowship examined Kiel’s Altstadt over the years to imagine the future development of the city. The focus area is the old city center in the year 2050.

  • The ambition of the fellowship is to envision a new urban prototype within the context of the old city center allowing for the flexibility of social, commercial, and environmental developments.
